As a mother, an independent contractor, a wife, along with all the usual commitments that fall in a woman’s lap, I had picked up many roles and fallen into routines that became safe, despite them not fitting the narrative I craved.
It was a more daring narrative; one where my forty-something-year-old self pursued what made her light up. My vision was that of a new career path that fully aligned with who I’d become.
The story lived on a shelf, idle, waiting for the “right” time to materialize. But that time started to feel indefinite and distant. I lacked direction and a plan; I felt stuck.
A move to a new state felt like it might reset everything, but once I saw myself going in circles again, I finally realized I needed to get out of my own way. There was no right time, there was only the time I decided to act.
For many years, I watched myself hit the pause button every time I allowed my thoughts to travel beyond my comfort zone.
Today, I am a professional coach because I allowed myself to listen to what truly fueled and fulfilled me
